I am currently running windows 2000 server and I am trying to figure out how to after like 10 minutes to have the computer password protect itself. My users are on thin clients is there any way to do this through active directory? Any information would help.

Answer Wiki:
Active Directory = yes. Then Group Policy set for screen saver with password to clear. Push. Sleep well at night. Micrsoft has several articles on implementation. Good luck.

Open AD, go to the properties of the Domain. Go to Group policy–>Edit your GP–>User Config.–>Control Panel–>Display.
The last five will need to be configured to do this. As you open each one their is an Explain tab to tell how it works. I have mine set for 15 minutes or 900 seconds. Be sure to hide the Screen Saver tab or they will try to change their SS and this will screw with the setting.
