Q:
password
I can't remember my admin password on an old workstation, is there any backdoor I can use to obtain the password or change it?

Can I install another harddrive with an operating system on it and go into the old boot drive and find the password somehow?

This information can be found easily using the Google search XP password recovery.

I've used Knoppix for this sort of thing in the past. Here's one tutorial.

another useful tool is an In Code We Trust boot CD. Boot off it and then you can find or reset the admin password. google and download.

Ophcrack may work and Elcomsoft has a slew of password cracking options.

Another good tool for this sort of thing is called XP Beginner. It has all kinds of different password tools amongst other useful utilities. It works best with Windows XP. Not very good with Vista.
