Hello Sir, i m creating a partition  as  use master go create database mypartpracdb214 on primary (name=db_dat, filename='c:partitionpracticedb.mdf',size=4mb), --filegroup fgi --(name=fgi_dat,filename='cpartitionpracticefgi.mdf',Size=2mb), filegroup fg2 (name=fg2_dat,filename='c:partitionpracticefg2.mdf',size=2mb) log on (name=db_log, filename='c:partitionpracticelog.mdf',size=2mb,filegrowth=10%); go create partition function partfunc (int) as range left for values(1000,2000,3000,4000,5000) create partition scheme mypartschm as partition partfunc  to ([fg1],[fg2]) After executing the partition scheme code it shows error as Msg 7707, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 The associated partition function 'partfunc' generates more partitions than there are file groups mentioned in the scheme 'mypartschm'. should i create the file group (fg1),if yes then how to create it. pls guide me.what is the error. thanx
