Should I pursue a part-time career in SAP?

I just recently passed the CPA License Examination. I am presently working in an accounting firm as Advisory Associate. I am curious of the world of Information technology particularly pursuing career in SAP. But I have to serve my present company because I have a bond. Is it possible that I can pursue this career (basically part time) while at the same time having full time job in an accounting firm? if yes, how can I start

Yes you can. However it is very difficult to get project for the same. You can get projects easily if you have strong relationship with past clients. Before you get involved with part time projects, you should be SAP certified. SAP certification is essential for getting any freelancing project to independent consultant.

As you have already passed the CPA, I recommend you to go with first SAP FI certification followed by SAP CO certification.

    As you are working in an accounting firm, assuming you have commerce background. For SAP course and according to your working experience you can go for SAP FICO (financial accounting & controlling). However. for part time course, several institution provides the same, but you can contact local and good educational institution for more info.

    CPA with FICO expertise is definitely a wonderful bet as far as a promising career is concerned. Only thing that you must be clear about is whether you want to land into implementations and support, or head finance of a company along with being the functional head of FICO in SAP.
