Unfortunately, iAccess 6.1 came out a year and a half before Win 7 was released to manufacturing and almost two years before Win7 GA. Support for Win7 wasn't part of iAccess until 7.1.

That pretty much rules out good IBM support for the problem. If you have 6.1, it might be worth putting in an order for 7.1 even if you don't install it on the server. If you can install the PC components, it might work. But if it doesn't, you have the chance of getting IBM to fix it. There might not be any other choice.

Tom, you are correct. The Workstation program said version 5.5 the ISeries access shows V5R2. I did have V6R1 ; Mod. Level 0 ; Service Level S142423 install at first to test the built in scanner, but when that failed, I uninstall that version and install V5R2 ; Mod. Level 0 ; Service Level S108894. I thought that since MochaSoft (Mocha W32 TN5250 ; Version 5.2) was an older emulation but worked with the built in scanner, that V5R2 might work, but the V5R2 failed also.

I am running Client Access Ver5.5...

Since there is no version 5.5 of Client Access, I assume that you're referring to the version of the PComm emulator (i.e., the Workstation program). And since iSeries Access V5R3 contains PComm V5.7, it seems that you might be running an iSeries Access version earlier than V5R3 on a Windows 7 PC.

I'm not aware that even iSeries Access V5R3 is supported on Win7. So an earlier version is going to be much less supported and probably shouldn't work at all.

Before trying to go farther, please check the actual version of iSeries Access (or Client Access if it really is that old). From the desktop Start menu, navigate into Programs, into iSeries Access and open the Properties program report the version and release from there. Also, it's important to also report the Service Level from the same place. Post those back here.
