Unable to uninstall Lotus Notes v.6.5

It still asks me for the “Lotus Notes 6.5.6 de.msi” file which I don’t have so here is what I did.

Rename the Notes and Notes Data dir
-> Start -> Run… -> regedit
Strg+F (search)
c:\Notes\Notes.exe (path to your Notes install dir and Notes.exe)
Remove every folder in the Registry that has this information string.

Install Notes and copy the old files/folders
archive
mail
all .nsf files apart from busytime, headline, log and perweb
signature.html
id file
Notes.ini

Cheers
Rainer

Security Knowledge in Practice implementation

It is converted with a lot of work and based on solid experience with the components of the network that you need to secure. No one can tell you how to do it unless you provide a detailed topology of the network showing its hardware along with a description of the services and applications that are accessed over it. (And then you should expect to pay for the response.)
.
Run a Google search for something like [ implementation SKiP Security Knowledge in Practice ] to start getting an idea. One thing you’ll eventually find will be multi-day courses costing $2000US and more that begin training in implementation.
.
It isn’t something you’ll learn how to do in general forum postings. You begin learning by paying attention in class and by testing in lab environments.
.
Books are written (and sold) about your question. It’s a hard fact of life, but the knowledge can sometimes seem more like an art than a science. And the science part is constantly changing. It’s not easy giving the knowledge away when it’s the foundation of a livelihood. That’s especially true when so much of the details will apply to specific hardware and software.
.
Tom

BlackBerry mark email as private

I am not aware of a way for a Blackberry to send e-mail with different ‘Sensitivity:’ header values. The SMTP ‘Sensitivity:’ header is optional and not required of any client, nor should any server require its presence. (IMO, it is a header I would expect BB to want to provide. I haven’t seen mention of plans to make it available. Clearly not enough customers have asked BB for it.) — Tom

“Unrelated” program changes? I wouldn’t expect many unknown bugs in QMHSNDPM, so I’d be very carefully checking all “unrelated” changes for parameter length mismatches and similar problems. It might even be that the changes exposed an even more unrelated problem that wasn’t visible before in some other part of code.
.
For hex in debug, add [ :x ] after a variable, e.g.:
.
== > eval myvar:x
.
The EVAL command is generated by F11. It can be recalled from history with F9 (or simply typed). But I don’t know what you might find available for debug viewing if the problem appears on a message line.

Is there a way to backup iseries partition without using a tape

A “full system” restore means that the licensed internal code and the OS would be restored. The system can’t use anything from its disks or from its network connections when you do that. The licensed internal code (LIC) and OS must be active in order for disks and network to work.
.
But it should be very rare to do a “full system” restore. The only time I’ve ever had to do it was when I was testing Y2K solutions and setting test systems to known starting points.
.
Is there a reason you can’t use your optical drive?

Impossible to access to HTTP admin

My last comment was (probably mistakenly) checked as an “Answer”. But it was only requesting some clarification. PTF SI49057 is part of the current SF99115 group PTF package, so the way that the package is currently stored will help us know how SI49057 might be accessed. — Tom

AS/400 and macro

No useful info at all without knowing the emulator. And if it’s iSeries Access, it could also require the service level since old service levels are so common and allow unpredictable results, especially after PC OS upgrades or installing on newer PCs without iAccess service packs.
.
A Mochasoft macro isn’t anywhere as sophisticated as iSeries Access. Editing one would take a lot of study. I don’t have other emulators active except for iAccess. Editing those can be much easier because the macro language itself is fairly readable.

msgId is a 7 byte character field
not sure how to view “F11″ result (Debug view of field value) in hex … OK I guess I could force a write of the bad field to a data file but I didn’t want to spend time on the bad msgId unless that helps us somehow.
i found a lengthy article saying api bugs do happen – but I chose to skip it since it wasn’t leading to a fix
Right now my “Plan B” is to abandon the api even tho that feels the the right way to fill the message subfile

Is there a way to backup iseries partition without using a tape

If you have enough empty space you need to setup Virtual Tape Drive and Image Catalogs for tape Volumes. Once created you can do a Option 21 save to Virtual Tape device. Then the IFS directory that holds the Image Catalogs can be FTP’d to a Windows Server.
As mentioned before you would have to Duplicate the Image to actual Tape to do a D side IPL to restore system.

Mr. TOm , i asked to backup the whole server cause it happened before that the server was done and when i restart it it ask me to a dvd recovery , so i had to start from beginning , hmc install , create partitions iseries and aix …. then fix network connection >>
