my laptop already downloaded automatically windows xp sp3 for an upgrade but my laptop can not install it, is there a problem with my sp2 system preventing the upgrade to sp3?

Currently I got low disk space errors, I then went to disk management but I find that there is no “extend” disk and “shrink” disk option, so anyone please help.I have not used any software so I am a newbie. A detail tutorial would be appreciate. Thanks in advance.
