OWA – user’s email not showing up – read or unread
Exchange Server 2003......user is XP......I have checked my email before and i see all unread emails and read emails so I was thinking so can everyone else. The other day a user comes to me and asked "why can't I read my emails or see my emails when checking from home w/ OWA?". Walked over to a pc here and got user to log into their email using OWA. Sure enough user has no emails. Why can't this user view their emails when checking from a remote location?

If the option is selected inside the accounts properties on the desktop machine cleaning the messages off the server - then the messages will be downloaded to the desktop and not available via outlook web access. To fix this: 1. Open Outlook 2000 2. Click Tools in the file menu and select Accounts 3. Click the Mail Tab and click once on the Expedient Email Account in the account window to highlight it, then click the Properties button. 4. In the Account Properties, click the Advanced Tab 5. Remove the check from "Leave a copy of messages on server" 6. Click OK and OK. Click the Close button on the Accounts window Message will need to be deleted from the hand held for them to be permanently deleted. it could be also that you are choosing to download you enail to your personal folder , from out look choose to view the mailbox

OWA usually works in conjunction with your desktop Outlook and they should show the same information as they sync up when started.
Sounds like the user has confiugred their OWA to display all email in another location. Not the inbox. It’s not uncommon for a user to cause themselves problems, check the rules on their OWA account.

Yeah, if it’s set to only display unread messages, you may not see anything. They’re there, just filtered out!

When I tried opening mails from IE6, no mail was showing up but mails show up in G-chrome and Firefox.
I went to “Tools” menu> Internet Options> Cleared Cookies, files and History in general tab and Cleared forms, passwords through AutoComplete button in Content tab. Then I restarted computer and Web outlook in my IE6 started working normal.
