 OUTPUTQ for AS/400 audit
Hi I need help on AS400. I have jobs that go directly to pinters, ie invoices that have set paramaters for printing. There are also audit printfiles that go but this means realigning each time a different type of job is sent to the pinter q. Is there any way that I can send the audits to "*qprint" permanently with out changing the invoice print which goes to the *user printq?. Help would be appreciated. Thanks

Answer Wiki:
The answer that comes to mind is to insert an OVRPRTF audits to QPRINT, or maybe create an outq called 'audits. and use an OVRPRTF to direct them all there, then print them or save them (save a tree) at a time thats convenient. OUTQ's are cheap - use more of them and get extra value from your IBM i . Or is more complex than that?

Is there any way that I can send the audits to “*qprint” permanently…

Use of OVRPRTF is a definite possibility.

However, it might help us if you explain what “*qprint” is. Where are you seeing “*qprint”? If that is some value used by one of your applications, an override might not help.

Isn’t the QGPL/QPRINT output queue a standard object? I can’t think of an AS/400 installation that didn’t have it.

Isn’t the QGPL/QPRINT output queue a standard object?

Yes, and it’s probably inappropriate for most output.

However, the actual (quoted even) reference was “*qprint” which seemed to indicate a very specific attribute of something. It’s not clear if that was intentional or just a slip.
