Outlook Web Access is showing an Out of Office message for a user from a previous employer! Microsoft Outlook is showing the correct Out of Office Message. Exchange server is online. User has not synced with a mobile device. How is this possible?!!!

Microsoft Outlook doesn’t always update the Out of Office message as it should. Just have the user update it in OWA.

    They did at a previous company and its the previous Company's OOF message that is appearing in OWA. His old Blackberry has not been connected up to our system.

    That is truly odd I have to say. Ok, you say the old company message is showing in OWA. What happens when he takes that message out, replaces it and saves the changes?

    It can be saved over ok so its not a problem on that score. I've got to come up with some kind of explanation as Staff are obviously a bit concerned as to how this could happen! Especially as the guy in question has joined us from a rival firm!

    I would say the end user has tried to synch his mobile device without your knowledge. Again this is just my opinion. I cannot see how a message generated by one mail system can be on the other mail system when they are not linked to each other in anyway, which is what you are describing. I think this user tried to sync his device and the previous employer had not disabled his account, this is just my opinion.
