I am a delegate on my boss's calendar. He has a million (literally) emails in his mailbox. He has problems receiving invites because his mailbox is too full. Now I am having issues creating events and modifying current ones. I get a popup message telling me that I can't modify the event and I'm having to take the calendar offline to see the new events. But then that means that my boss doesn't see the events that I put into his calendar. Is this because his mailbox is too full and it's preventing me from adding events? If so, is there a way to fix this so that I can still add/modify events so that he can have an updated calendar? Thanks for the help!

This is because of the space limitation on the exchange server, Either you have to create personal folder and move the emails to the designated folders or ask the network admin to increase his mailbox capacity on the exchange server.

As mailbox if full you can reduce it size in different ways. As all the data is stored in PST file so you can split the PST file into multiple files or you can create separate PST files like archive PST to move old items into it. This will help you in reducing the size of the file.RegardsMaria
You can perform following checks:
-Old meeting requests are archived for some period.
-Recurring meeting requests are set with end date.
-Use only one Calendar
-Run the following Outlook switch
Outlook /resetnavpane
Outlook /cleanviews
Outlook /cleanfreebusy
-Reconfigure profile of Outlook.
