I'm getting reports from a number of users whose meeting/calendar reminders are not working properly. Either there is no reminder at all, or it comes sometime well after the appoinment time. Not all users in the Exchange enterprise experience the same behavior. What's the deal?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Make sure that delivery for your users are configured to be in the server MailBox, and not in a personnal folder (PST). The reminders that appear are those from the calendar that belongs to the folder that is configured to be the delivery target.

Bye.

When setting up an Outlook event, they need to make sure that they are checking the reminder check box (default is unchecked). Also verify that they are in correct time zone (daylight savings time) if reminder is happening at different time.

We have had similar problems and running Outlook with a switch (/cleanfreebusy) seemed to clear it up. Here is a link to other command line switches for Outlook. I believe they will work with both Outlook XP (2002) and Outlook 2003. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HP010031101033.aspx

We have run into issues after installing Windows XP SP2. Users with Outlook 2000, XP, and 2003 report that messages do appear in their Inbox until they open an existing message, messages appear to be stuck in the Outbox but clear when you open the Outbox, and other similar situations. I do not recall anyone reporting issues with reminders, but it sounds like a similar problem. To work around the problem, we added a program exception for Outlook.exe in Group Policy for the Windows Firewall.
