I have run the outlook pst file repair which found no problems. What is happening is I am not able to modify in any manner files on outlook. In the inbox view is shows the number 3 for the mail but does not display any of the mail. In the unread view it shows all of the 3 of the emails. I can open and view each I cannot change them nor delete them. In the inbox view it does not show any of the previous mail at all in any views. I can see sent mail in that folder as well as all of my saved mail. I am unable to connect with the server to download new mail. I am not by any means an expert with computers so I find myself in a real dilemma. Please if someone can give advice on how to fix my problem I will really appreciate any help... Alan

The PST file itself do you have full windows rights to the FILE….. is it READ only for instance?
I found that there are a total of three PST files one is an archive and two others. I have tried switching the defalt file which does change things but none of them preform correctly. I looked for the Stellar Phoenix PST repair tool and found it costs $140 which I do not have. I am trying to repair my computer for myself because I do not have the funds to pay someone to fix it so I am relaying on any help I can get. Thank you for anything you can do to help.Alan
If the builtin tools don’t help, i.e., the Inbox Repair tool, then 3rd-party tools are the only likely direction to go.
But you should know that this isn’t a do-it-yourself site. It’s a site intended to support IT professionals. Doing work for free is kind of contradictory to the site purpose. By helping other ‘IT pros’ learn more or overcome problems, we help them to be more efficient and perhaps more affordable. If the volunteers here gave it all away, we’d all be out of work and the site itself would be dead.

TomLiottoI appreciate the fact that you need not give away your knowledge but I was in a real tight spot and I was just trying to fix my problem myself because I haven’t the money to pay anybody to fix it. I am sorry for invading your place I meant no harm.
No, not a problem. But you might appreciate someone explaining why it can seem hard to get help on a site like this one. I don’t want you to think you’re being ignored or getting the run-around. Volunteer members just might resist going all out to help even someone who might need it. Answers often come anyway, even though it can take time for someone to decide. Unfortunately for your case, it’s a fairly specialized area. It’s a Microsoft proprietary product. Those who can help best often are also those who sell the 3rd-party utilities. — Tom
TomLiotta,Thank you I guess I have just see if I can find some tat charge me much or not use Outlook but I cannot get the mail that has already come in, never mind thank for your advice and the help you did give me… Alan
