 Outlook mail – Sort date not today but 1904

When I'm sending emails they show today's date (my computers date and time is showing the correct info) but when I searched for an email I sent today that wasn't appearing in my folder where I'd filed it - On doing a search I found it (along with many others) that were dated 1 Jan 1904? These emails range in actual dates from today to Sept 30 2011 - any ideas?

Sounds strange.. Are all you e-mails reflecting the 1 Jan 1904 date? Have you checked the date on the server running the mail system? Is this specific to you or are other people having the same date issue? Also is it possible that the date format may causing the problem. MM/DD/YY vs DD/MM/YY or other version?

Hi Todd,
Yes I know it is very strange. The server date is correct and seems to be specific to me (there are only two server users). It appears to have only affected emails from September 2011.

Also what is strange is that with those emails affected they do not show any date when I look in my folder but do show the correct date when I click on the actual email.

Any suggestions.

-Check to see if you have the best suited time zone for your area.
-Check with your ISP for your default time zone..

I’ve seen this happen to clients email, where ISP uses different time zone from clients time zone settings resulting to client email back dating or ahead of time…I never had figured out until I called our Local ISP…
