Dear Friends

I need urgent responce about this issue. I checked all the solutions about this topice which I fould on this website but it still doesn't work. anyhow I give u a description of it.

I have exchange server 2007 installed on vmware machine with os win 2003 server 64bit. the server is pinged well by name ,ip and i think there is no problem regarding DNS. i have win 7 on my machine with outlook 2010 i cannot creat an account via outlook to exchange server it says"the outlook is not noline or be connected to complete application". i also checked it via virtual pc by os xp and outlook 2003 on my mashine but nothing changes. another clients on the domain also can not connect by this error.

i would really appreciate if anyone guide me.

it's so important for me to solve it immediately :)

cheers

sarah

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

I am afraid the DNS seems to at fault. Have you already ceated a profile? If yes then try and create a new profile and let outlook to error out into message box where you can see the exchange connection field and username field.

If you are i the domain then in the exchnage server field you need to put the your server full dns name: server.domain

and then try to check the name of the username.

Let me know what you found

Hi Salotif, If I understood your question, you're trying to create an account from outlook within your exchange server. If my assumption about your question is right, you are not taking the right steps. All you need to do is create the email account you want/need in the Active Directory (remember mail enabled account). Only after this you can configure your outlook with your exchange account settings. Please post back if you need further assistance. Regards,

Ok, We have a little more now!. If your users are able to connect via OWA, POP3 and SMTP, the problem might be different from what I was assuming. When you first start outlook and try to create the outlook profile (when it asks you to create/configure an email account) what do you configure? An Exchange account or a POP3 account? Even connecting to the same server, the protocols used are different and so their configuration. You can check this published tutorial (not made by me). If this does not solve tyour problem, please let us know. Regards,

Nice tutorial. We are starting to deploy Win7 on the same Exchange Server. I will add this to my favorites. Thanks Saturno

Have you enabled mapi on the exchange accounts? When you connect Outlook via an exchange account you should be using mapi apposed to pop3. I personally use exchange management console for 2007 instead of Active Directory, you can right click the mailbox, click properties then the Mailbox Features tab. Here you should have MAPI enabled.

@Salotif I have also seen this before, fixed it by making sure Office updates and/or service packs is up to date, that might fix your issue, Regards
