See if you can get Outlook to open in safe mode. Then do a detect and repair. Otherwise, create a new profile, try to import that one and copy over.
There are also 3rd party utilities for fixing *.pst files.

If this is a POP3 account downloading to a .pst file then try running scanpst to repair.
