Outlook 2010 cannot connect to Exchange 2007.
We had a few interesting "power events" yesterday that made life interesting here. The one last remaining issue caused by the multiple brown and blackouts is that a few clients cannot connect to the exchange 2007 server with Outlook 2010.
Details:
When Outlook is started on the affected machines it reaches the stage of "Loading Profile" it asks for the users password (it did not do this before). Supplying the password does no good. The users account can be reached using the OWA web client from the affected machines, and all email, tasks etc are there. The user can also send and receive email through OWA. All other network connectivity (Web and shared drives) seem to be working properly.
Efforts so far:
I have tried the "Repair" function in the account settings of Outlook 2010. This did not help.
I've tried to remove the account from the client and recreate it but the results are still the same.
I have also tried a repair install of Office 2010. Still no luck.
NOTE: These are basically moot considering that I just logged into a
different computer as the problematic user, and I still get the same
result when I try to configure the Outlook client.
I'm running out of ideas...help?!
This is affecting 4 users out of about 25 users total.

Is the connection made OL 2010 to Exchange 2007 by using RPC over HTTPS ! I am not sure, but u may try out this….
By adding a dword value ( DefConnectOpts) to the following registry key…..
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice<version> OutlookRPC
Remember, take backup of ur important data and also registry before try.
