Hi, i am having a mojor problem with my outlook forwarding whenever i forward an email it does not include the original message which is very critical to my work and for some reason all my emails eventually say they have not been sent yet these are emails i have recieved. i have recently changed new pc's so i have imported allmy files and everything seems to work fine except that. i have tried to change setting to enable the original message when forwarding still does not work. Please would really appreciate the help. thanks

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

The setting you are looking for is under tools, options, and on the preferences tab select the email options button. The bottom of this dialog box is “on replies and forwards” and under the heading “when forwarding a message” there is a drop down box under that allows you to select the desired behavior you want, such as including the original text or attaching original message etc.

i already made sure that i selected include original message but still does not work.

As I am unfamiliar with this particular problem, I can only offer a suggestion: It may be a problem with whether Word is enabled as your editor, have you checked this? Also, until the solution is found, you should be able to highlight what you want carried on in the forware (Control+A in your circumstance) and then press the forward button. If this does not work, than you can simply copy the e-mail contents into a new e-mail or pre-existing reply. But those are only temporary "fixes."

Here is more detail of the problem. I am unable to forward emails that have attachments to them. It does not happen to all emails. I have not been able to isolate whether it happens when I am sending a week old email or a day old email becuase it happens intermittently. It does not seem to be any particular attachment. Some are excel spreadsheets, some are jpegs, some are word documents. I can tell wheher an email will be able to be forwarded because when I go to that email there is a bar above the header that says "This message has not been sent". I find that unusual because I never sent the email, it is one that I received. So I don't know why that happens. Thank you for your help.

When you mean cannot send attachements does this mean that when you hit the forward button the attachment and original content is not included in the new e-mail or you send the e-mail and a reply is sent back that the attachment could not be sent? If it is the second case, your firewall and/or e-mail security software might be preventing this. Outlook also, by default, doesn't allow certain files or types to be sent.

They types of attachments you mention aren't typically ones that are blocked in Outlook. Cmax, does this involve mail you are forwarding internal or external to your organization or both? Also do you use a third party filter vendor like Message Labs to send your mail through or no?

Schmidtw and Technochic it is a little difficult to explain is there a way i could send you or post a print screen. when you hit the forward button it as if it looks exactly as i recieved it.
