 Outlook 2007 generates a new folder ie: drafts for each machine the user logs into
Microsoft Exchange 2007, Microsoft Outlook 2007, Outlook Caching
Each one of ours users gets new folders created when they log onto a different pc. This means a user might have 11 drafts folders for the 11 pc's they log onto. I realise its an issue with the way exchange is caching the mailboxes locally, but can anyone suggest a way to stop it?

We are running Exchange 2007 Version 08.03.0083.000.

A draft folder is nothing but a folder that a user has in the event that they do not finish writing their email. What you want to be concerned about is their personal folder (PST). This is where a user may move mail that they want to keep for later access. For this, I would suggest that you have some personal space on the servers for your users and as they log onto each system, have them map their personal folder to that folder on the server folder and this way they can have access to it at all times. Or simply stop running Outlook in cache mode.

I think you completely failed to grasp the problem. First of all, exchange no longer uses pst files. It uses OSTs. Second, the problem is that user are getting multiple draft folders generated (for example) for each machine they log in.

This means when they sit down their OST has 7 draft folders generated for the 7 different machines they log into.
