I'm running Outlook 2007. I am connected to an enteprise exchange server so I can see a global address book. However, I also store many contacts in my contacts folder. I have noticed that when I create a distribution list in my contacts foler, I can use it for a while, but after a few days, it seems to disappear. What normally happens is I try to send an email to the distributio list. Autocompletion finds it ok, but when i hit th send button, I get the "unexpected error" message. If I click on the + in the to line, i get an error message: "The name or distribution list has been deleted and is no longer valid etc...". Sure enough when I look in my contact folder, the distribution list is gone.
This is happend several times. I create DLs and then they randomly disappear.
Why is this happening

Are you connected directly to the exchange server or are you using POP3? Are you using cached mode? Is your outlook patched to the latest service packs and rollups?
I am connected directly to the exchange server. i.e. No POP3.
Normally I am in cached mode, but occasionally, and due to a home grown application that is integrated with Outlook, I do need to exit outlook and restart using a slightly different profile that is not in cached mode.
I am running MS Outlook 2007 12.0.6300.5000 SP1 MSO
My distribution list has disapeared.
I am connected to POP3
