I agree with Buddy’s suggestions. The first thing to do will be to see if the problem follows the user from workstation to workstation.

I tried your suggestion to no avail. I believe it may have to do with my pc being connected to a server running server 2003. I have a lap top attached to the same system using outlook. I do not experience this problem. I will try to delete my computer setting for this machine and will let you know if the problem is gone when I create a new pc setup.

The problem does not appear to be with server 2003. I have tested outlook on other machines after logging in and I am able to print. I am still getting the error”could not complete the operation. One or more parameter values are not valid. Any idea where to look on my machine for a file that could be causing the problem?

I have the same problem in that sometimes outgoing emails just sit in the outbox and I have talked to others who have the same problem. I thought it was related to one incoming email address but that is not the case.
Interestingly, if I copy the contents of a ’stuck’ email and create a new email with same content and address and title pasted in, the email is sent. -Although the original remains stuck in the outbox. Send/Receive appears to ignore the outbox at further attempts to send the email.
I have set up logging, but this has not shown anything yet.
One final point in that, for me, I believe that this always happens when replying to an email.
Using XP Pro with SP2; Outlook 2003 (11.8206.8202) SP3; Emails are sent via an ISP, so I have no idea what they run.

An additional observation, as these failures are sporadic.
I had a failure, replying to an email, yesterday, so dragged the email out of the outbox to the draft folder. I then resent it and the email went straight away.

I am using office 2007 with Exchange 2007 and I get emails stuck in my outbox from time to time as well. Typically it is first thing in the morning and if I close my outlook I get prompted there are emails to be sent, do I really want to close without sending? I say yes, re-open my outlook, let it load and then have to hit “send/receive” to get the emails to send. After that they do not get stuck again until the next day when I first open my Outlook. I have yet to find any information on this repetitive issue for me.
