 Outlook 2003: Unable to Delete notification that meeting was declined

In Outlook 2003: Unable to Delete notification from a coworker that a meeting was declined. Getting error Unable to delete and that the item has been moved or removed. Is there a way to delete this mail item? Apparently the calendar item associated with it had been removed from the calendar and deleted items emptied a while ago.

Answer Wiki:
Close outlook, go to start, run, type "outlook.exe /cleanfreebusy" (without the quotes of course) and click ok. Try deleting again after this. You can also use <a href="http://mfcmapi.codeplex.com/">MFCMAPI</a> if necessary.
