I think you will need to do this from Forms (not Reports). It could be done with the help of the DDE package. Have a look at <a href="http://itknowledgeexchange.techtarget.com/itanswers/how-to-call-excel-from-oracle-reportforms-6i/">this similar question</a>, in which a couple of examples were provided.
