Hi; I'm in the same boat. Loads of practical experience, but no certifcate to show for it. You need to figure out if you have what it takes to write either the OCA (Oracle Certified Associate) <b>or</b>[ the OCP (ORACLE Certified Professional) exams. Loads of studying req'd for both, so talk to someone who went through it before you proceed. Here's the recommendation I got from ORACLE Canada. You have several paths open to you at thuis point: 1. Go to the local community college that offers certification training and discuss your 'life credits' that you've earned thru work and how to use them towards the exam program. Several tech colleges are certified partners with ORACLE and offer exam prep courses towards the certification exams. 2. Go to you local CHAPTERS or BARNES and NOBLES book store, and purchase (if you can afford them) the OCA/OCP exam books. They're BLOODY EXPENSIVE! (But well worth the price to see what you're getting in to!) 3. Go to your local university (McGill and Concordia in Montreal for me) and attend their ORACLE courses. Your practical knowledge will put you WAY ahead of the class. They will prep you for the exams and the social side of things doesn't hurt either. 4. Talk to ORACLE directly and get a career plan put in place (which exams need to be written, etc.). The advice is always free. Hope this helps a bit......
