 Oracle 10g database creation errors in windows 7
hello friends this is avishek behera.. recently i installed oracle 10g database software only in windows 7. after that i tried to create a database.. but i got an error like oermission denied.. i have installed in d drive which is not my system drive and also installed with administrator previlage "run as administrator". still i am unable to create database. please suggest me what to do.. waiting for all ur valuable response.. thanx nd regards.. avishek

Dear avishek behera ! Plz note you should uninstall the previous installed oracle 10g database software and after this reinstall it in "C" Drive. Now you will able to create a database here. You must try it ! Regards... Ashiq Ali

It could be an incompatibility between Oracle and the OS, as Oracle 10g is not certified to run on Windows 7. However, I know that many people have been able to solve this kind of problem, so maybe a Google search could offer some hints.

Have you tried it ?

Uninstall the previous installed oracle 10g database software and after this reinstall it in “C” Drive. Now you will able to create a database here.

Oracle is planning to make 11gR2 available on Windows 7. There is no official notice that any older version will be made available, There are known issues with Windows 7 is even newer.
That is not a certified flavor for Oracle 10g. You can run the installer and passing the command

Runinstaller -ignoreSysPrereqs. and after that u may work with this version….
