 Oracle Application Remote Administration
Hello Sir/Madam/Mrs/Ms, i'm not sure whether is this the right platform asking my type of questions, but just go ahead. I have an Oracle database server and application server at Premise A. Right now i'm in Premise B which is geographically apart from Premise A about 365km. I want to access Oracle and only Oracle application alone in server at Premise A from Oracle client PC in Premise B to do remote Oracle administration. Oracle database and application in use is 9i version. No web browser is to be used for this remote connection. Question : How do i do setup/configure this remote connection? Can i use VPN to configure? Do i need to do installation at client in Premise B? I Thank you in advance for the answer.

Answer Wiki:
You can set up vpn. That works fine. In order to do administration, you must have at least SQL*Plus (or something like it) installed. You can, however also use Enterprise Manager remotely as well. You can log in as normal, sysop or sysdba and do everything you would do locally as a remote. I do this daily and it works fine as long as you have a pretty quick connection.
