 I am trying to install oracle 9i(3 CDs) on my desktop
I am trying to install oracle 9i(3 CDs) on my desktop, configuratn is around 0.99 GB ram, more 12 GB disk space, win XP....while installing m not able to install DBCA & thus not able to create any passwords....at the time of installation i got two errors which i ignored & continued..after installation is complete, it shows Database Configuration Assistant failed to install.....now am not able to connect to SQLplus, it is showing TNS: protocol adapter error...please anybody can help me??

It is not a good idea to simply ignore errors. Those installation errors could be causing this problem. However, you can <a href="http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/A95493_02/install.htm#i1008302">Review the Installation Session Log</a> and try to find more information about those errors. Also, make sure your computer meets the <a href="http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/A95493_02/reqs.htm#i1101759">System Requirements</a>. You could also <a href="http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/A95493_02/install.htm#i1008321">Deinstall Oracle Components and Services</a> and try the installation again (paying more attention to any error or message shown during the process). -CarlosDL -------------------
