Oracle 8.1.7 Rman commands
I am trying to run Oracle 8i Rman and cannot find any explanation for the Rman command line. I can connect to the recovery catalog and the target and by using some examples of Rman run commands I can do certain things. But I need to know the commands?.. When I get an error saying Rman found THIS but was expecting THIS, I need to know what THIS is. RMAN-01005: syntax error: found ?xxxxxxxx?: expecting one of: ?append, at, auxiliary, catalog, cmdfile, ect. Ect. Ect.? Where can I find an explanation of these commands? I know if anybody knows, you do. Any help will be greatly appreciated?Thanks

The Oracle8i Recovery Manager User's Guide and Reference has syntax, instructions, examples, etc. Also check your ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/demo directory, there should be a .sh file (e.g., rman2.sh) that is an example shell script for rman backups.
