Sir I got two questions:
1. How Can I run Oracle 10g forms for the First time?
2. How Can I open and Connect an fmb file into oracle 10g forms?

Not a stupid question at all.

The answer is no, you have to use the URL I mentioned in my last post. That is the URL you should have in the ‘Application Server URL’ option in your Forms runtime preferences.

Ok at the expense of sounding stupid i am going to ask one more question. I found the parameter you mentioned in the file “formsweb.cfg” and the value i already have right now is this . serverURL=/forms/lservlet

so should i change it to
http://mymachinename:8889/forms/frmservlet?config=jpi
or

http://mymachinename:888/forms/lservlet?config=jpi

For a basic test, the Application Server URL (in your Forms’ runtime preferences) should be just:

http://mymachinename:8889/forms/frmservlet?config=jpi

yes i am running using JPI. Sorry for the late reply was down with sever gum infection for last 4 days had a surgery. Yes i am running JPI used all the inputs from your previous post and atleast i can see the explorer window now. But no form gets displayed.

hello Carlosdl, your answers have helped me a lot to fix my problems of not being able to run the form in the browser. now that i can run the form i have another issue. Nothing is displayed i am getting a blank page, which just shows “oracle application server forms services” and a blank browser is displayed. What could be wrong?

1) If IE7 doesn’t run on Windows 7, then you will have to use JPI.
2) Do not make any configuration changes yet. Try this:
-In Forms Builder go to “Edit”->”Preferences”, and select the “Runtime” tab.
-In the Application Server URL text box add “?config=jpi” at the end of your current URL, so it should be something like “http://your_machine:8890/forms/frmservlet?config=jpi”
-Try to run your form again.

1- i didn’t find the IE7 for windows7 , please send me the link for IE7 compatable to windows 7 if exist .
2- about the sun jpi i have searched the net and found jre-i586.exe file , is that the correct version or not? also i’ve read about changing some parameters from the formsweb.cfg to configure the jpi correctly such as
baseHTMLjinitiator=webutiljini.htm
baseHTMLjpi=webutiljpi.htm
baseHTML=webutilbase.htm
but i didn’t understand well so please send me more details what parameters should be changed and how .
