What services can I stop on Windows Vista 6.1 to keep my computer from running so hard when I start the virtual computer; and, what services do I have to leave on all the time?
Software/Hardware used:
Windows Vista Ultimate Version 6.1001 64-bit SP-1 (Real Machine) to run a Windows 8 Virtual Machine; on a Gateway T Series Laptop from 2008 with a Intel Core Duo 2GHz x 2GHz and 4 Gib of Ram.

To give a more precise answer, we would need to see the list of services that are running on your computer, their startup type, and their description, and after that we would most likely need to ask you about the programs you have installed on the machine, and whether you really need them running all the time.
But even doing it that way, there is a risk that you will stop a service you need, and something may start malfunctioning.
i think one of the best way is to see things that you might not use and stop it. if lets say you don’t need help and support, fax, wireless configuration (if you are using wired) then you can stop those services. but it really depends on you.
