The device manager is a graphical view of devices that are installed on your machine or connected to it. A device driver is a file that literally tells a system how to use the specific software and hardware in the device. The manager lets you access, update, roll back, or remove (uninstall) drivers.

    Generally, device driver means, related to hardware driver, which can help to recognize the hardware which is attached with the system / OS. An OS must recognizes hardware and it can be done through a software which is called device driver / driver software. While device manager is a built-in mechanism of Windows, which can help to identify hardware and shows proper installation of driver software.
