I m new to IT.I wish 2 operate DOS through excel.

For example , in DOS we write some command and then press enter, then dos displays the information concerned with that command.

Is this possible to do this, i.e writing command in DOS and pressing enter jst by writing a programme in excel.Plz note DOS screen is already opened on the desktop but we cant touch this DOS screen,everything should be taken care of by excel.We will be forcing Excel to do this by writing a programme in excel and excel will automaticaaly switch over to DOS and then type command and press enter and then displays information.

Why do you need to do it from Excel ?
What’s the reason why you can’t touch the command prompt session ?
What sort of commands are you going to execute ?

Excel is not a suitable program for low level (cli) commands.

Hopefully, you are not trying to write commands that run when the spreadsheet is opened, along the lines of a trojan?

More information is needed to be helpful.

Dear Wiki , Carlosdl , Chippy088 and other friends , thanks for your precious time u gave for my question.May i give u the clear idea what i really wana do through excel macro.
I am working in a small firm, where i have to do a repeated task on a window(it just looks alike a dos window).This window perhaps has a datebase , where in this window(screen) three options(three blank spaces) are provided,

OPTION NO 1- – OPTION NO 2- – - – - OPTION NO 3- – - BELOW TO THIS IS…..

01 name of patient
02 Disease of patient
03 date of admission to the hospital.

FOR EXANPLE
OPTION NO 1-01 OPTION NO 2-12345 OPTION NO 3-MOSTLY BLANK .
AND IF NOW I WILL PRESS ENTER THE SCREEN WILL DISPLAY PATIENT NAME OF NO 12345 BUT IF I WIL WRITE 02 IN OPTION NO 1 AND WILL PRESS ENTER IT WIL DISPLAY DISEASE OF PATIENT.

I WANT TO PROGRAMME A CODE IN EXCEL ,THAT WILL AUTOMATICALLY SWITCH OVER TO THIS SCREEN(ALREADY OPENED AT DESKTOP) AND WILL WRITE 01 IN OPTION NO 1 AND PATIENT NO AT THE PLACE OF OPTION NO 2 , AND THEN WILL PRESS ENTER.SO THAT I WILL GET THE DESIRED INFORMATION JUST BY PLAYING THIS MACRO IN EXCEL.

Some one said Nothing is IMPOSSIBLE in IT.
Dunno how much time it will take , but i must have to design a macro which can perform this task.I am sure ,u all will help.
