According to a market forecast by DisplaySearch, shipments of tablet computers should reach 425 million by 2017. The Apple iOS operating system will continue to lead the market share to tablets but will lose shares to Android and Windows 8 platforms. How do you see the future of tablet computers? Do you think they will continue to grow in the near future or will new innovations force them out? Will Apple continue to lead the way? The best response will receive 200 bonus Knowledge Points!

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

With no boot time ,very flexible touch technology. I believe with more media ports in the tablets (HDMI, USB, …), with enhancements that will enable tablets to run most of the applications in the laptops or desktops, and with larger screens tablets to be introduced, tablets will definitely will grow and be the best end users choice.
If Apple will not adjust their platform to be able to handle more media and applications, I don’t think they will lead the way.

in my opinion, one day, the tablet if it really can match the power of laptop (CPU, RAM and etc) and yet the size and weight is kept like the current tablet, then for sure the tablet will be able to replace the laptop. I guess with tablet it is very portable too and easer to bring around if compared to laptop
