Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Are you talking HA software. Want to test a Link?
Create a PF on the source syste, see if ODS replicates the object to the target system, Then make a change to the physical file (add a member) to see if it changes on the target system.

OMS400/ODS400 is Vision Orion and it is HA software. The original question is a bit vague. If you have the software installed and configured then what MellOrman said will work fine. Any object will be replicated to the target as long as you have not put that object on a list of exceptions. If you are looking to test swapping source and target systems, then you will be doing what Vision calls a "Roleswap". Chances are you have a "ROLESWAP" user ID. Sign on with that and you get a ROLESWAP menu. Follow the menu options in order on both systems. If you want to test and see if the software is worth using? Well, we've been running it for four years. It works fine. Regards Mike

There are a lot of components to OMS and ODS. For ODS, you should create a new test user profile and see if it gets added to your Target system. Then update the profile and check if the changes went through. Do the same with a spool file to a monitored outq. Just take a print screen and see if it goes across then delete and check that as well. There is just too much to cover without any specifics. For OMS, make a test link and create or copy a file with several 1000 records. Verify that gets syncronized. Then make several updates to the file (dlt recs, add recs., chgobjown, etc) and watch them go across to the Target.
