Hi IT expert..
I've a very serious problem.
The situation is like this :
1. On 27th November, 2002 an email was sent by user A to group X where user B is one of the members.
2. Today (7th July 2009) , the mentioned email suddenly has been re-sent to all members in group X from user B without any action taken (Means that user B didn't forward the email or resend the email)
Below are the sender information stated in that email :
User A
Sent by: User B
It looks like the email has been sent by user B ID using user A mailbox and it might lead to a very serious misunderstanding.
May I know if Domino server have any auto-function / agents that will re-send the old emails to its existing recipients for some reason?
If yes, how could I prevent this from happening again since it has occur before (few month ago, with another person's email)
Really need your kind help ...
Our environment :
Domino server : R 8.02
Client : R 6.5.5
With best regards

Could the 2002 mail have been sitting in someone’s local outgoing mail database?
Thanks a lot! I’ve make a test and I believe this is the cause of the email sent issues..
Now I’ve to check every Lotus Notes client in my company to make sure the Button is not there …
A million thanks for the solution
Sorry but I just realized something when I’m doing some Toolbar clean up at user’s station.
I found that one of users Lotus Notes client didn’t have the SEND button in his Universal Toolbar but that “strange email” (referring to our discussion topic) was triggered from his Lotus Notes client. May I know if there is any other possibilities that enable Lotus Notes to do the same “strange emails?”..
I still cannot find any from the technote but also still looking for it ..:-)
Thanks .
Hi Ledlincoln
looks like no emails are still in their local outgoing mail db..
thanks.
Was the message actually sent? Could it have gotten there from replication with an old local replica somewhere that never got the deletion stub? I mean, messages don’t just send themselves, it requires some sort of action, programmatic or user based. Also, if it was sent, it was not sent as a Forward or Reply – it is just the raw original message resent?

Guys,,,
I have faced this problem more than three times when I was working on the LN 6.5.5 then LN 6.5.4 and even by creating a PMR with IBM the problem was not resolved . However, the only thing which resolved this case was an upgrade of both the LN domino and LN client . to LN 8.0.2
Regards
hi Mike
Yes, the message was actually sent to the people reside group.
No replicated database for that user mailbox has been created. Yes, the message wouldn’t send by itself but it has been triggered by something like the Universal Send button. Somehow one of Lotus Notes client didn’t have this button, so I afraid it will happen again.
Hi Abushahd,
If R8.02 will resolved the problems it will be a great news since we also have a plan to upgrade client version.
thanks
Hi there Anevil,,
Frankly, after we upgraded the LND 6.5.5 to LND8.0.2 last year we didnt face this problem any more.
Thanks .
