DISCUSSION: What are you trying to install? I am installing an update to an ERP application. The application had already been installed and running on this server - both the Client and the Server versions. In updating, the installation is successful but when I open/access the program, I get the error message: Error 1429: OLE IDispatch exception code 0 from Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified..

Take a look at the configuration of your ERP application. Some settings (including the name of the ODBC data source) could have been reseted to their defaults with the update.

If that’s not the case, and it is not a ‘known issue’ of the update you installed, then I think you will have to contact your software vendor/support.
