nt5inf.cat file missing while installing windows server 2003

I am installing windows server 2003 on virtual pc 2004. I get the msgbox that promts me to locate the file nt5inf.cat. I am loading the OS from iso-image in virtual pc:s cd drive. How to solve?

If your image is valid then the file is under the I386 folder as NT5inf.ca_ (standard MS compressed delivery).

When the dialog box ask for file browse to the I386 folder on you image and you should be good to go.

p.s. if it is not there then your image is invalid go back to the original disk.

    One other possibility, may be that required file is on virtual PC install, and not included when this was installed. May be worth searching for file on virtual PC install media if it is not found in I386 folder.

    Hello, Please recreate the Image from a valid original CD of Windows server 2003 - Do it at a lower speed on the read if you must. Make sure you can copy from the original CD that the nt5inf.cat file or nt5inf.ca_ file and see if that works first. Lastly since you are using VPC you may not have enough open file handlers to take care of the install, I don't know how your VPC boots, but make sure it would be the same as a raw pc with nothing on the drive.
