Laura55, actually it is more complex installing Oracle on Windows. The main things you want to consider is the placement of your datafiles and configure the memory for use. There are a lot of good places to find reference material, but if you can’t find any that are suitable, just email me and I can send you a procedure that I developed for the install. Check searchDatabase.com, DBAsupport.com or best choice – MetaLink (if you have access).
The OUI can step you through the install and you should have no problems with a little forethought. A lot depends on how the Admin configures the server. Are you doing this yourself or do you have an Admin that handles the hardware/firmware? Main problem areas – file placement, memory allocation and security, especially if you are using single signon.
Hope I helped a bit.
