Q:
novell eDirectory and LDAP
hi there

I'm new to linux and i want our organization to use ldap to share all our network assets. I have configured LDAP correctly according to the steps i got. And i was later told that with only ldap installed i will not be able to reach my goals, but need to install novell eDirectory first and now I am confused and can not get enough information about eDirectory and LDAP. and also can not find eDirectory downloads. By the way i am running SUSE Linux SP2 platform.

Any one for help????????

Sadly you do need to install eDirectory first to get it to recognize the mail and domain servers. Are you running SUSE 10 or SUSE 11? I spoke with one of the Novell techs a few weeks ago and they have yet to get full support for SUSE 11. 10 is the highest version that they can verify that Groupwise will work on. If you need info on eDirectory you can find some here http://www.novell.com/documentation/edir88/
