It is taking all of my self-control to not click the Improve This Answer button and deleting that post.

It was actually a spam answer — “Come buy my product.” I removed the product link and left the comment.

My opinion is that an ‘Answer’ should not be simply an (unpaid) advertisement for a product. Product references in a ‘Discussion’ seem reasonable, though I believe that they should include disclosure of a relationship to the vendor in order to be honest.

But hi-jacking a thread just to give your own product a benefit is a disservice to all members. This site is at least partially supported by paid advertising. Members are allowed free access because of that. I personally see it as an indication of a vendor to avoid.

Others may disagree with me.

There is a relatively simple way to determine if the problem is with the sender’s recent contact list. Ask the sender to go to their Sent folder and open the message they sent you. What does is show for the TO address? If it is not your address, then the problem may very well be the recent contacts. If it is the correct address, then the problem lies elsewhere. In any case, switching to Outlook is probably the most pointless endeavor and would only be suggested by someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing, or by a troll. It is taking all of my self-control to not click the Improve This Answer button and deleting that post.

That’s one of the more useless ‘Answers’ on this site. Since it’s possibly also the most common problem for Outlook users and most business Outlook users can’t affect whether the server is properly handling e-mail, a switch to Outlook is a ridiculous recommendation. (Home users are probably even less able to affect server actions.)

To take such an action simply because “someone told me” some unsubstantiated item is one of the real most common problems.

-I would like to ask if you are the only one having this problem with these senders or there is another user who has similar thing …
- I have seen also the ” recent contact ” issue with many users in my life this problem gets fixed by either installing the corresponding Fix Pack of the lotus notes client or to upgrade the lotus notes clinet to the lates version 8.5.3 and by deleting the name of the recepient in the ” recent contact “.
-Are these senders able to receive emails from you ?
It will be more helpful if you could post the exact response of your help desk in order to start analysing it .

If your help desk can’t help, it’s unlikely that we can.

What do your remote senders see when they attempt to send to you?
