Not compressed backup of databased with data compression enabled
Hi All, currently recent databases version comprise features of data compression for storage optimization such as Oracle Advance Compression or DB2 Compression. My question is regarding backup of these databases with compression enabled when there's already a compression/deduplication hw product for backup storage saving. Is it possibile to have not compressed backup file (using RMAN or DB2 equivalent) so that compression and dedupe can be applied from backup dedicated hw? anybody has experience or test such options and can share impacts and pro/cons of this configuration? thanks in advance.
