Are those shared folders visible ? What error message do you get when trying to access them ?  Is this a domain environment ?

Can you add some more details....such as what DOES happen when you try to access these files. Is there an error message, permission denied, or simply no response from the file folder? Do you have other networked resources (such as a printer) and if so, are you able to access it?
