 Norton Antivirus/Internet Security 2005

I have received several calls from users that their upgrade of Norton Antivirus or Internet Security 2005 fails. The natural reaction I had was to uninstall the previous version and install 2005. However after the 2005 upgrade even though the previous version is listed in Add/Remove programs, the uninstallation fails. All users have SP2 installed. Anyone else seen this behavior and/or fixes? I am going to check Symantec's web site but if anyone has a fix, no need to re-invent the wheel.

have you attempted using RNAV to remove norton 2004? and then tried installing norton2005??

I am not a huge Symantec fan and did not know that tool (assuming RNAV is a tool) existed. I will search for it. Thanks.
