I want to connect a wireless PC to an existing non-wireless printer to avoid using a cable. Please advise if there is a device that converts the printer to wireless for home use ie. not for multiple PCs

what is the manufacturer/ model of your printer.... 1st make sure this printer has wireless network adapter/ wireless router. Generally, it varies with manufacturer/ model while most of all require to setup wireless printer itself first and not on Laptop/ Desktop pc. Also which OS is available on your laptop that is required.

    Couple of options:
    1) If the printer has a network connection, you should be able to cable it into your network (switch, wireless router, etc) then connect to it via IP address / Network address from the wireless PC
    2) Connect the printer to the PC via USB, install drivers and print
