NO internet connection


Windows XP, Network connectivity

Will the loss of an IP address show up as a network cable unplugged message on the system tray. A subnet at my office has been set up with static IPs and one of the PCs has no internet connection

No, loosing your IP Address will not cause the network cable unplugged message.

Make sure the computers are on the network (same domain) and then check the TCP/IP subnet (properties under network connection).
