Hi,

Can you explain what you want to use this for?

Regards,

Martin Gilbert.

Hi Gilly,

By using WRKACTJOB nobody should not get the information about what screen i am working with.
Thanks

Hi,

I don’t think that’s possible. You could always revoke authority to the WRKACTJOB command. Users shouldn’t have access to this anyway.

Martin Gilbert.

Hi Gilly, thank u so much for ur quick reply.

Hi Gilly,

I need ur suggestion plz , Now I am jobless, Actualy i am trying to get job in AS400. Kindly let me know the concepts that will help me to get a job.

Thanks

Hi,

That’s always a difficult question. These days the AS400 has so many capabilities and all of them are areas where you can be a specialist in.

If you want to get into programming work, it will probably take you a reasonably long time to learn. I would suggest trying to get into systems administration – there’s a lot to learn here too, especially to get to be a good sys admin.

Start by getting the operations tasks mastered, learn about backups, IPL’s, security, system values, etc. All the manuals are online at the IBM info center and you can download .PDF versions as well. Even if you end up going into programming it’s always good to know how all the operational tasks are done (many programmers have no idea about things like backups and restores).

I hope this will help you on your way.

Martin Gilbert.

Hi Gilbert,

Thanks for ur suggestion. Actualy i am learning AS400 for past 1.7 years, First 1 years i learned

RPGLE, CL & DB2/400 programming but now i am learning Administration for past 7 months. All most i

covered what u mentioned below and also i am intereseted to learn BRMS? But i dont know the way to

learn it practicaly…

Thanks

Hi,

You can find the BRMS manuals at the info center, but I suspect it’s not very useful for learning purposes. I use BRMS where I work, but I don’t really know too much about it. I know just enough to get by with using it, I would have no idea how to set it up on a new system. It’s just something that I’ve never needed to know.

Regards,

Martin Gilbert.
