My question is i have a 2524 router trying to set up a home lab to study for the ccna exam and i also have a 2924 xl switch the router has only ethernet 0 and 1..My quetion is can i connect the 2524 router to the 2924 switch which uses fast ethernet..would it make any difference in speed

Is the ethernet of your 2524 router a gigabit ethernet? If it is, you should change it to 10/100 otherwise it won’t sync with your 2924 switch.
