Do you really mean SPAM ( that mass  junk e-mail ) that's usually harmless or of the possible viruses / trojans / malware / worms that may be embedded in them.?  Most  web security site will have info on recent threats. From what I have read these have been on the decline lately. Maybe people are finally growing up and realize the problems they cause.

Maybe people are finally growing up and realize the problems they cause.   Rates have been trending down instead of up, but it's only a trend for now. There's not yet reason to think it's permanent. The major spam-bots are mostly still active. New ones that are more effective can be created at any time.   One suspected reason for the current trend is a couple high-profile convictions of major spammers. A potential result is a slight vacuum in the "market" that has a good chance of being occupied by one or more new major spammers.   Tom

You are right Tom. If  #1 or #2 get knocked out then there are others waiting in the wings vying for their position and so called fame. Let's hope the trend lasts a little longer. The other thing is there are more avenues for attacks with today's technology like mobile devices that may be taking away some of the problems that have plagued desktop units for years,
