 New DHCP Range
DHCP, DHCP Reservation, DHCP scope, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, IP range
I would like to change my IP Range scope in DHCP but would like to know how to get workstations to obtain their new IP addresses without rebooting their computers and/or doing a release and renew. Is there a way to do that?

If the workstations have already received a lease, they will not attempt to renew until 1/2 of the lease time. Rebooting or a release/renew is the only way to get the address reassignment to happen quicker.

By using secondary addressing on the workstations’ gateway. You will need to support both the new and old subnet until all of the workstations have obtained a new lease on the new subnet.
