Check with your Bank's IT department before trying any of this. Banks usually have strict security procedures in place (or should), and you could bring quite a bit of grief into your working world if you become a perceived security risk. 'nuf said. If you do not had Word or Excel installed on your desktop you might be able to install Open Officeon a USB drive and use that to read the Word and Excel files. Open Office is compatible with reading and writing Office document formats. BUT CHECK WITH YOUR IT DEPT BEFORE CONNECTING A USB DRIVE TO THEIR NETWORK!!!!!!
Good Luck!

Working off of the previous answer...if you aren't provided the software or abilities there is a good chance they aren't intended to be used. With that in mind, use incredible discretion when proceding...but of course, see the IT staff first.
Hope this helps!

If you live outside the United States, by submitting your email address you consent to having your personal data transferred to and processed in the United States.
I agree with Schmidtw, if you cannot access these files from the thin clients, maybe you should not access them, but if you need to do it, I think your IT department should provide you with whatever it takes to do it.
I’ll have to agree with everyone else here. I’ve got family who work for banks and they are very strict about what you can and can not attach to the network or install on their PCs. If you need something else to do your job contact the help desk and put in a formal request for it.
